Welcome to Dipped. These terms apply whenever you use the Dipped website or app. By creating an account or using Dipped, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Dipped.
Dipped is a directory and personal logbook for outdoor swimming spots — lidos, sea pools, and tidal pools across the UK and Channel Islands. It exists to help you discover places to swim and record your visits. It is not a safety service, a booking service, or an official source of information about any venue.
Dipped is for logging and sharing genuine visits to real swimming spots. You must not:
You're responsible for your account and for keeping your login details secure. You must be at least 16 to create an account. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, which removes your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.
Reviews, ratings, reactions, and photos are created and uploaded by individual users and reflect that person's own experience and opinion. They are not statements made, checked, verified, or endorsed by Dipped. We do not review content before it appears, and we accept no responsibility or liability for what users post — including reviews you consider unfair, inaccurate, or disappointing.
By posting content on Dipped, you confirm it's honest, based on a visit you actually made, and yours to share, and you grant Dipped a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it within the service.
If you believe a review or photo breaks these terms, you can report it from the pool page. We may remove any review, photo, dip, or account that we believe breaks these terms — at our sole discretion, without notice, and without an appeals process. Our decision is final.
Pool details — opening times, prices, facilities, conditions, and everything else — are compiled from public sources and user contributions. They may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Always check directly with the venue before you travel. Dipped accepts no liability for wasted journeys, closed venues, or any loss arising from inaccurate pool information.
Outdoor and open-water swimming carries real dangers, including cold water shock, currents, tides, waves, submerged objects, water quality, and rapidly changing conditions. Dipped is a directory and logbook only. It does not assess, monitor, or guarantee the safety of any location, and the presence of a pool on Dipped is not a recommendation that it is safe to swim there, on any given day or at all.
You are solely responsible for your own safety. Assess conditions yourself, know your limits, and follow guidance from venue operators and lifeguards. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dipped accepts no liability for any injury, illness, loss, or damage arising from swimming at, travelling to, or otherwise visiting any location listed on Dipped.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Dipped is provided “as is” and free of charge. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dipped's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to £100.
The Dipped name, branding, design, and the pool database are owned by Dipped. You may use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
We may suspend or end your access to Dipped if you break these terms, and we may modify or discontinue the service (in whole or in part) at any time.
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will always tell you when. Continued use of Dipped after a change means you accept the current version.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
